What is an Audio Described performance?

An Audio described performance offers vison impaired customer’s the opportunity to experience a performance through live verbal commentary.

Audio Description is broadcast to a headset or mobile device using either infrared, radio, or WiFi.

The description does not interfere with the performance but fills in the gaps, describing facial expressions, costume, scenery, and action sequences so that anyone requiring the service can follow the plot fully and independently.

Audio Described performances are often accompanied by a touch tour. This usually takes place prior to the show and gives customers a chance to explore the set, costumes and sometimes, meet some of the actors.
